Diabetics Group at Amar Hall
Young Diabetics Organisation Kent - ‘Circle D’ was set up by Shelley Bennett and Sally Hicks in 2007,upon becoming close friends they discovered that there is a lack of support and general information for youngsters who have diabetes within Dartford, Gravesend and the surrounding areas. The group has secured £1,500 funding from a youth voluntary group called ‘V’. With this funding, they plan to host a range of social events with which they can promote awareness of the problems faced by diabetics as well as providing a support network for those involved.
The first of their events shall be at Amar Hall on Sunday 1st February 2009. This shall be run by young diabetics and will be in the form of an event which includes games, discussion, information and food! In April they are hosting a BBQ/Picnic and further information shall be available as its known. Amar Hall, Dartford are proud to be supporters of this event and welcome 'Circle D' and look forward to making the group grow and become an outstanding success.
